TOPIC: Aviation obstruction: what you need to know
Michael has more than 25 years’ experience in managing aviation operations. Since March 2015 he has been manager of the Federal Aviation Administration’s Obstruction Evaluation Group, which promotes air safety and the efficient use of airspace.
He joined FAA after spending three years as the senior Air Force representative to the FAA, and before that spent 20 years in a variety of roles of increasing responsibility within the US Air Force, specializing in air traffic control and airfield operations.
His career with the US armed forces included a posting to Afghanistan in 2012 where he was director of combined aviation development and joint air traffic management at ISAF, the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force.
Michael is based at the FAA’s headquarters in Washington DC.
